Leader of HUN-REN Research Group in Szeged, University of Szeged Top Prestigious List
The leader of the HUN-REN–SZTE Neuroscience Research Group ranks first on the list of the most outstanding representatives in specialised fields of medical and health sciences. HUN-REN's partner institution, the University of Szeged, has even outperformed Boston's Harvard University and the Karolinska Institute.
Professor Dr László Vécsei, renowned for his research on kynurenines (read more about his work here), and our partner institution, the University of Szeged, received the highest score and best rating. As a result, they now top the prestigious Expertscape database, as reported on the University of Szeged’s website. According to Professor Vécsei, this achievement serves as an excellent testimony to the close collaboration between universities and research groups.
Kynurenine research has been ongoing in Szeged for many years, involving several institutes of the local university as well as researchers from the HUN-REN Biological Research Centre in Szeged. Led by László Vécsei, the HUN-REN–SZTE Neuroscience Research Group focuses on the kynurenine-metabolism relationship. A significant portion of the research is conducted within the group. The kynurenine system plays a crucial role in regulating processes in both the immune and nervous systems.
